Introduction​
The 33rd Annual Brown County Deer Classic is scheduled for Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at 6:00 PM CST. The Classic is the number one annual fund-raiser for St. Mary Catholic School in Mt. Sterling, Illinois.
The 2023 show will feature the giveaway of more than one hundred guns, an E-bike, three-carat diamond earrings, hunting excursions, an online and live auction, along with a staggering amount of cash and prizes!

More than five hundred sportsmen and women will gather and enjoy the Deer Classic in the school’s gym, featuring an amazing meal, a game tent, and the unbelievable “Bragging Wall,” which features more than fifty stunning deer mounts.
“The money we generate supports the efforts of teachers and staff, helps with building upkeep and improvements, and most importantly, ensures a quality, faith-based education for these kids. At no time has this been more important than right now," says event co-founder Jon Boylen. “We are very excited about providing such a fun and exciting gathering place for everyone who attends while still maintaining a great online presence and live broadcast with BC Hornets Sports.”

“We are set to make this one of the most entertaining events ever and we can’t wait to host a great crowd. We have more than one hundred guns to give away!
Familiar and fun giveaways like the Super Raffle, Classic Friends Packages with special bonus gifts will be highlights. Diamond earrings are back in BIG way! Three carats from Sturhahn Jewelers in Quincy.

The Classic will also welcome back our mascot: Booner the BCDC Buck. Booner and his other woodland friends are expected to be making special appearances soon to help promote the event.

The Classic has also partnered with BC Hornets Sports for this year’s live stream of the event. Cinematographer and St Mary graduate, Austin Boylen, and Brown County’s own Steve Surrat and Nick Hendricker will handle the show’s production.
Tickets & Auction​

Tickets are available now at Kassing Lumber Company and Two Wheel Trading Company in Mt Sterling or at bcdeerclassic.com.
There are many prize packages and special prizes available online along with several very special card raffles, game tent, live auction and other fun opportunities available exclusively at the event.
All door package tickets purchased BEFORE November 5th will be qualified for the Early Bird $500 Cash Drawing-new this year.

Webster Auctioneer will host a No Reserve, Timed, Online Auction at websterauctioneers.com (starting November 1st) and, Back by Popular demand, we will also have a small live auction at the event!

“Community reaction is always unprecedented.” according to co-chair Dave Ferrill. “This is an important event for the kids, and it has truly become a destination event for our supporters. Most of the people I talk to are planning to attend or join friends and family for Watch Parties. We are humbled by the support we receive.”
Melissa Obert serves as the school’s principal and her position is equally upbeat. “We are happy to see such an amazing Deer Classic come together for 2023 and this school is growing. Our Pre-K is at maximum capacity with a waiting list while other class sizes grow each year! Thank you to everyone who helps with and supports this event! The funds generated by this event will be put to good use for these young people.”
